G.D. TRUC - THE MAN, THE BOOK

THE BIG DAY HAS FINALLY ARRIVED.  MY BOOK IS AVAILABLE!

I want to remain composed and maintain the discreet, quiet ambition that I have always demonstrated in the past. What can I say except to insist on the fact that the book is simply indispensable reading. It should be required reading for undergraduates in every university in the world. It could change the way you look at life. There is something profoundly spiritual about it.

Even though the author didn't always do justice to my many attributes, I feel I come out of the whole thing exceptionally well. Could it be otherwise?

I hope you will check it out!

Purchase the book at amazon.com

Spread the word.

I have arrived ! Yes, G.D. TRUC has arrived !

Abraços amigos !

ME IN COLOUR!

I'm back, yes, I'm back and larger than life! My cruel creator finally decided to put more colour into my existence!  And that is not all! We (my cruel creator and I) just finished a book on my life. It is called G.D. TRUC: THE MAN, THE BOOK! I'll keep you posted on availability and distribution. In the meantime, feast your eyes on this glimpse of things to come. ME IN COLOUR! Well almost, I think he forgot my face!

TAXING TIME OF THE YEAR

I have been doing my taxes. Same story every year. I hate doing my taxes. But they are done. I am happy.
It is surprising how long it takes, and how complicated it can be, to officially state that one hasn't made any money.
This is something to think about. I have a nose for this sort of thing.

LIFE IS AN ELEVATOR

Life is an elevator. It has ups and downs but really doesn't go anywhere. That is why enjoying the ride is so important. Destination fixations are lethal ! Avoid dead ends!

FACE IT!

Blind obedience is for those who can’t see the importance of being a free spirit. If you can’t see it, you can’t be it! Trucify, trucify! It really is the only way!
Look at your life, is it a mess? Is it going somewhere? Is it the life you wanted? Could it be better? Much better? Be honest!
Well then, there you go…have a great day. It is nice out. Today is a sun day!

FOOTBALL HEAVEN

Well, since I am living in football (soccer) heaven now, I had to pull out this old picture of my younger days when I was in goal for Courbevoie United in France. We never quite made it into the third division but as you might expect, this was no fault of mine. I was nothing short of brilliant. The fans adored me and the women...well, I'll leave that to your imaginations!
This photo was taken on an off day. As I remember, I was feeling a bit under the weather - "crise de foie" I believe.

DOG DIRT IN ZEE CAPITAL!

Everyone who has been there knows that Paris is the world capital of dog dirt on sidewalks. The Paris city government has tried many things to rid the city of this filthy situation but seems to have finally settled on machines that spread the dirt s thinly as possible over the largest possible area. Well, I suppose if the dog owners won't help, then this is one possible solution although the mind boggles at the amount of money spent on man and machine to try and keep the city relatively free of the stuff. In the 80's naive government officials thought that they could inspire owners to have their dogs do their jobs in the gutter instead of on the sidewalks and they started a massive ad campaign with the slogan "I do it where I am told to do it." The ads showed a dog doing his thing in the gutter because presumably his master had somehow communicated to him that this is where it was done! Well, this inspired my creator to star me in a little story dedicated to the dog dirt situation at the time. Here's another TRUC original from the past!

A STAR IS BORN!

I just starred in my first movie, well...video, to be more precise "THE MOODS OF G.D. TRUC". To be honest, when I first saw it I was not sure it really did justice to my discreet, intellectual side, but I had to admit that it did capture certain qualities I do admire. Now that I have had a chance to view it several hundred times, I can honestly say "It's me, It's fabulous!" There's no stopping me now! Today Florianópolis, tomorrow, Hollywood!
Check it out!
Have a great night folks!

POLITICALLY CORRECT

HELLO FANS FAN! I am feeling very patriotic today! Getting in the mood for some serious creative work! Going to be very busy. Got lots of new stuff to prepare for my online store! I have been thinking about doing some greeting cards. Looking for a unique approach. Something funny, but not offensive - something intelligent, but not elitist - something edgy, but not cruel! This is very problematic! Does this mean I have to be politically correct?  Wow, now there’s a thought for the day! Think I’ll take a break and go a listen to “Wild Thing” – get those creative juices flowing!

MY BEST SIDE?

I know, I know! Everyone has a good side. But I have spent hours in front of the mirror and to be perfectly honest I don't think I have one! Troubling to say the least! Please take a look at these two pictures done this past week in Brazil and tell me I'm wrong.

THE FUTILITY OF LIFE

This old cartoon of me is sort of depressing, but even so, I enjoy looking at it! It reminds me of The Myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus. Ahh the existentialist's love affair with the futility of life! Camus compared our existence with the destiny of Sisyphus of Greek Mythology fame: that of rolling a boulder up the mountain only to have it roll down again each time he tried to reach the top. As tough as it might be, I prefer my birds to his boulder!

A LONG TIME AGO

I thought I would share an old picture of me in Paris working on a sculpture in my studio back in the 80's. Brings back memories of my starving artist days! ahhh Paris! un café crème! un croissant! There really was something very charming about the place in those days.

BONJOUR MY FRIENDS

RECENT PORTRAIT FROM BRAZIL

I can't believe it. I finally have a blog set up and running - a place to keep the world informed of everything I am doing and thinking! Never thought I would actually get around to it, but here I am!
There are a lot of crazy things going on in this world of ours these days, but in the midst of it all, I think one of the most significant things I have witnessed is the dignity, respect and courage displayed by the Japanese people in the face of the immense tragedy that has befallen their country over the past 10 days. Quite a lesson is civilization! It renews one's faith in human nature!
G.D. Truc was born to blog, so... here's bloggin' to you, kid!
